Northeast Ballet Company was represented at this year’s New York City Ballet SPAC Gala!
Northeast Ballet Company will again participate in the 2nd Annual Young Artist Festival at Saratoga Performing Arts Center on June 2, 2019. The Company will be working with the Empire State Youth Orchestra and Chorale! New choreographic pieces will be presented, including one from New York City Ballet Principal Dancer Lauren Lovette!
Auditions were held on February 9th. The company accepted 33 dancers from over 10 different area schools!
NEW YORK CITY BALLET CASTING CALL!
Auditions will be held for local children and teens in Balanchine’s Coppélia and Mozartiana for this year’s Saratoga summer residency.
MARCH 10, 2019 beginning at 1:00 pm at the NATIONAL MUSEUM OF DANCE SCHOOL OF THE ARTS STUDIOS, 99 South Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY
Coppélia includes roles for:
24 girls who are between 4’ 2” and 4’ 11” tall. Understudies will also be cast. *
6 girls, ages 14-18 years old, who are between 5’ 2” and 5’ 6” **
6 boys ages 14-18 years old, who are 5’ 5” or taller
Mozartiana includes roles for:
4 girls and 2 understudies ages 9-12 with advanced ballet technique who are between 4’ 6” and 4’ 10” tall *
*applicants should have at least two years of ballet training
** applicants should have at least two years of dance training
The children’s cast for Coppélia will rehearse starting on June 30 at the National Museum of Dance School of the Arts. Mozartiana rehearsals will begin on July 7. Teenagers in Coppélia will have two rehearsals that will begin on July 14, in advance of the company’s stage rehearsal.
Coppélia performances will be held at 8 p.m. on July 18 and 19, and at 2 p.m. on July 20.
Mozartiana will be featured as part of the Tschaikovsky and Balanchine program at 8 p.m. on July 16 and at 2 p.m. on July 18
HOW TO APPLY:
Pre-audition videos are highly encouraged and should be submitted by February 10 to email@example.com. Audition check-in on March 10 will commence at 12:15 pm at the National Museum of Dance School of the Arts Studios, 99 South Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY.
The Glimmerglass Festival is holding auditions for their 2019 Festival Season. They are looking for youth ages 8-18 for the following productions:
Show Boat (acting roles for any gender/ethnicity, ages 8-12, no singing needed)
Noah’s Flood (Their Youth Opera, featuring members of the Young Artists Program. Music by Benjamin Britten. Solo singing and chorus singing roles for any gender/ethnicity)
Auditions will be held on March 16th and 17th from 11:30 - 3:00.

Famous for her work as a principal dancer at the world-renowned New York City Ballet, Lauren Lovette is also one of the only female choreographers currently working at a major ballet company. Northeast Ballet Company recently was featured at the Festival of Young Artists in Saratoga Springs New York.
The Festival of Young Artists was a free event for the community which took place at Saratoga Performing Arts Center on June 3rd, 2018. The event celebrated the collaborative creativity of more than 400 of the Capital Region’s brightest young dancers, musicians, singers, poets, and visual artists.
Congratulations to Northeast Ballet's Assistant Artistic Director RICHARD GATTA!
Mr. Gatta has been cast in the upcoming Encores! production of Grand Hotel at the City Center in New York City!

Northeast Ballet Company Remembers a Friend
Northeast Ballet Company remembers Ms. Elizabeth Harr. Ms. Harr was a dear friend and supporter of the Company. Ms. Harr was one of our readers for The Nutcracker Tea at Saratoga's Hall of Springs. We will miss her terribly. Information about her life and services can be found here. Services will be held THIS SATURDAY, May 20 at 11:00 am at the Greenridge Cemetery in Saratoga Springs.

Miss Myers and Staff Members attend An American in Paris at Proctors!
Miss Myers, Miss Fitzy, Miss Alie, and Mr. Lucas accepted a special invitation to attend a dress rehearsal from An American in Paris at Proctors Theater. While there, they met famed Director and Choreographer, Christopher Wheeldon, and cast member Barton Cowperthwaite! They even snagged a picture in front of Northeast Ballet's Nutcracker poster!
