Performer, teacher and choreographer Lucas Rodriguez began his dance training with Myers Ballet School and subsequently with Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School and Bolshoi Ballet Academy Summer Intensive. He has since appeared in numerous performances with Northeast Ballet Company including annual productions of The Nutcracker. As a choreographer, Lucas continues to develop his craft with Northeast Ballet through various creative opportunities such as the company's contemporary production of Before and Beyond. Lucas currently teaches standard ballet and boys' ballet classes at the Myers School.
Lucas' debut piece for Northeast Ballet Company explores the fear, confusion and desire of young girls entering womanhood annd the conflict of leaving behind the comfort and delightful ignorance of childhood. Featuring the music of the final movement, "Faunes et Dryades" from Albert Roussel's transporting symphony Le Poeme de la Foret.
